Kindergarten...

My baby is in kindergarten. I cannot believe it. Monday was the first day of school, and if you were wondering....YES we both cried. He was fine, being very brave until they said it was time for the parents to go. He grabbed onto my leg and started to cry. Then as I was walking out the doorway, I heard "Mommmmyyyy!!!! Mommmmmyyyyy!" This was too much for me. My eyes welled up with tears, and I had to keep walking. I felt like I was abandoning him. I am a baby and I admit it. His teacher said after he calmed down he did just fine, which I assumed he would. Even though I am excited for him to embark on this new adventure, I miss him being at home with me. Where does the time go? Daddy & Garett on the first day of school Pick up time...and a very happy boy!

Today was his third day and things are going much better. He (unlike me) hasn't cried at all since the first day and he is starting to like it more and more. I am very proud of him. He's such a good boy and I love him so much. I still can't believe he is five.

I realize it took me a while, but here is James' announcement.

Sugar Pine Railroad

Garett helped plan a little trip for us this past weekend. We went camping up near Yosemite and rode the old steam engine train. It was great! It rained all night, but wasn't cold at all, so it was actually kind of fun! Here are the kids when they woke up in the middle of the night and realized it was raining. They didn't mind at all! Daddy had to go outside and add a tarp to the top of the tent. Here are Garett & Liberty inside an old sequoia tree. This is a giant pipe under the rode for the river to run through.A silly girl and....A tired boy.Take a look at this giant tree! The hike... it turns out that Liberty loves camping and hiking even more than Garett. The train... it's an old logging train. Very cool! ALL ABOARD!!!! Tickets please...

Before we started for home, we got a treat. Garett chose this giant jawbreaker.

Sweet Baby James

The Perils of having a Big Brother

Busted....
"If she would just stop kicking, I could get these handcuffs on her feet!"
It's already begun!

Comfort: to each his... or her own

Climbing

This one's for Uncle Clayton!
For those of you who don't know, Garett learned how to climb and repel
when we went to Pismo this past spring. He decided to try it at home. Not too bad!

And....He's learned a new trick!
