Where has my little baby gone? Garett has lost his first tooth. He was sooooo excited. It had been loose for about five or six days. He asked me for two or three days before if I would pull it out for him and each time I would wiggle it and play with it and then say, we'd better wait until tomorrow. Well, today (Sept. 22nd) he came and asked me to pull it out, again. This time Daddy was home and he wanted to help. Garett was a little worried at first, thinking that Daddy was not as "gentle" as Mommy but with a little coersion, Daddy convinced him to let him try it. We wiggled and wiggled that little tooth and then, Daddy got a good grip on it and just pulled it right out! Garett was thrilled... no tears, no pain, no whining, nothing! What a big boy! We sure love him! (Forgive me for the pictures taken with a broken camera)

Family Fun
The first weekend after school started we decide to take a little mini trip. We took the kids on their first "hike-in" camping trip. They were very excited. Liberty truly enjoyed carrying her own "pac-pac" with her stuff in it!
I love this picture inside a giant sequoia!
Garett & his best friend/Daddy

Back to School
I have debated within myself as to whether I should do this post. These pictures just make me sad. Garett was kind of excited for first grade the day before it started, but still not thrilled. He talked about how fun it would be to see all of his little friends again, etc. The first day of scholl arrive much too quickly. As we walked him to his class(holding my hand) he started to slow down... gradually a little slower and slower as we got closer to the school. Naturally he was a little scared and I can totally understand that. Here, at our school, he had no opportunity to meet his teacher or see his classroom before the first day. I think that would have helped him tremendously, but what do you do? Here is the picture we took outside his classroom. I have never seen him try so hard to FORCE a smile. It kind of looks like it hurts.
These next two pictures are why I wasn't sure if I should post this. Have you ever seen a more heartbreaking little face? He was very sad and did not want us to leave. He ran after me (out the door) four different times and just hugged me, crying. I lost it. I cried, too. How could I not? I am just NOT one of those moms who cannot wait for school to start again. I really do miss him. (I know... I am a baby!)
On a happier note, Garett did much better the second day. There were no tears and Daddy dropped him off without a hitch. I wish I had a picture of that day! He still is not thrilled with school, but he is just adjusting to the full day schedule. He says it's "Too Long." Liberty is the first to agree and I come a close second...I just miss him when he is gone! I sure do love this little guy!
