My baby is in kindergarten. I cannot believe it. Monday was the first day of school, and if you were wondering....YES we both cried. He was fine, being very brave until they said it was time for the parents to go. He grabbed onto my leg and started to cry. Then as I was walking out the doorway, I heard "Mommmmyyyy!!!! Mommmmmyyyyy!" This was too much for me. My eyes welled up with tears, and I had to keep walking. I felt like I was abandoning him. I am a baby and I admit it. His teacher said after he calmed down he did just fine, which I assumed he would. Even though I am excited for him to embark on this new adventure, I miss him being at home with me. Where does the time go?

Daddy & Garett on the first day of school

Pick up time...and a very happy boy!

Today was his third day and things are going much better. He (unlike me) hasn't cried at all since the first day and he is starting to like it more and more. I am very proud of him. He's such a good boy and I love him so much. I still can't believe he is five.

Congratulations on surviving Kindgarten! Here's to a great year with no more tears :)
I can't believe he is five either! I kept asking clay if dave had mentioned him going to kindergarten or not, but you know boys they dont talk about that stuff. I am so excited for him, kindergarten is the best. I am sure I will be a baby too when kinlee goes. Good thing you have James and Liberty home to keep you company though right?
This is the first year I didn't cry! I teared up a bit during their father's blessing but did good taking them to their class. So...it gets easier. My kids have never cried for me it was always me feeling like my heart was getting ripped out having to leave them with complete strangers and face the world without me by their side. So scary! I still get very giddy when two o'clock rolls around and I know they are on their way home. Good luck with the rest of the year!
Yeah for Garett! I'm glad the transition has become easier. It seems like kindergarten is the start of a busier life! Good Luck.
I can't believe how big he is getting...who is his teacher? Tell him hi from Austin.
